UPDATED 12:45 PM: Landslides occurred early this morning on Akoni Pule HWY approximately at mile marker 24 and near mile markers 26/27. The roads are being cleared right now and the road has opened at mile marker 24. A banyan tree fell a few hours ago (approximately 8:30 AM) around mile marker 25/26 (Halawa Gulch) and the police department has said that the highway, Pololu side of the school will open within 24 hours. School is in session. Please drive with EXTREME CAUTION. If can come to school come, if no can no worries. Stay safe!
UPDATED 5:15 PM: One lane on Akoni Pule HWY has been opened for emergency use where the banyan tree fell between mile markers 25-26. The landslide between mile markers 26-27 has been cleared, workers are still cleaning up, please drive with Aloha.
